Full Job Description of NDF Recruitment 2024

Namibian Defence Force Recruitment 2024 As There are Several Job Positions That have Opened up, Each one Has its Own Job Description as Well, as Well as Slightly Different Requirements and Qualifications.

Namibian Defence Force Recruitment 2024 Whenever a Job Vacancy is Issued, there are Some Criteria Stated in the Eligibility Section That the Applied/ Interested Candidate has to Meet. Otherwise, they Won’t be Able to Get Selected for the Concerned Post.

Therefore, the Sections That a Candidate has to Match for this Vacancy are as Follows-

 

Other Ranks

a) Must be Namibian citizen only.b) Age between 18-25 years c) He/she to have obtained at least Grade 12 or equivalent certificate with 25 points in five (5) subjects including E symbol in English, Grade 11 new curriculum with 25 points in five (5) subjects including a ‘D’ symbol in English or Grade 10 old curriculum with 25 points in seven (7) subjects and a ‘D’ symbel in English.d) Candidates with technical qualifications at level 3 or diploma such as electrical, mechanical, electronic and boilermaker will be an added advantage.e) He/she must meet the required standards as follows: 
(1) Ready to undergo a comprehensive medical test including HIV/AIDS and Pregnancy tests. (2) Must Pass Basic General Knowledge Test.
(3) Pass English Language Test. (4) Pass Physical Fitness Test:
(1) Run 2.4km in 13 mins for males and 14 mins 30 secs for females. (ii) Sit-Ups. Male 43 ups or more and female 25 ups or more..
(iii) Push Ups. Male 30 ups or more and female 28 ups or more. (5) Should have no criminal record.
(6) Should meet the following Body Mass and Height Requirements: (10) Male 152 cm min to 200 cm max: 47 kg to 96 kg.
(ii) Female 152 cm min to 183 cm max: 55 kg to 81 k 1 kg.f) Attach certified copies of Namibian Identity Card and Birth Certificate.g) Attach two (02) recent colour passport photos.h) Attach certified copies of all education qualifications.i) Attach copies of both sides of Covid-19 Vaccination Card.j) Indicate shoe size at the top right side on the First Page of the Public Service of Namibia Application for Employment Form No.156043.k) Applicants should indicate their constituencies on the form, stamped by their respective Constituency Councillor and should submit their application forms at the same office.

Officers Cadets

a) Must be Namibian citizen only.

c) He/she to have obtained at least Grade 12 or equivalent certificate with a minimum of 27 points in five (5) subjects including a ‘C’ symbol in English. Tertiary qualification will serve as added advantage.

d) He/she must meet the required standards as follows:
(1) Ready to undergo a comprehensive medical test including HIV/AIDS and Pregnancy tests. (2) Must Pass Basic General Knowledge Test
(3) Pass English Language Test.
(4) Pass Physical Fitness Test:

About Namibian Defence Force (NDF) Recruitment 2024

The Namibian Defence Force was established in 1990 by the Namibian Constitution, Chapter 15, Article 115, and the Defence Act 20 of 1990 as amended. The President is the Commander-In-Chief of the Namibian Defence Force.

At independence, Namibia had no Defence Force and it had to be built from scratch. Since then, significant progress has been made. Former members of the People’s Liberation Army of Namibia (PLAN) and the South West Africa Territory Force (SWATF) were demobilised and many of them were integrated into a unified Namibian Defence Force (NDF). The Defence Amendment Act (Act 20 of 1990) sets out a variety of legal requirements for the composition and organisation of the NDF. The Defence Policy Paper approved by the National Assembly in March 1992 presents policy guidelines for the development of the MOD and the NDF.

The British Military Advisory Training Team (BMATT) effort in Namibia has been directed towards developing a programme for creating and training the army prior to its assuming deployment tasks. The programme timings have been generated by the need to deploy formed units to undertake security tasks. The BMATT training programme covered a period from April 1990 – March 1995 and its tour of duty in Namibia was a tremendous success.

The People’s Liberation Army of Namibia (PLAN) was an armed wing of the South West Africa People’s Organization (SWAPO) of Namibia which had waged a protracted liberation war to free the Namibian people from colonial oppression by the then, South African Racist Regime. During the liberation struggle, SWAPO had been waging the struggle on three fronts, namely, Political, Diplomatic and Military front.
