To oversee compliance risks across the organisation through policy and procedure development and implementation, risk assessment, monitoring & testing, training, advisory activities, and investigations. The develop partnerships with business functions to integrate compliance management in daily business activities and strategic planning to foster and maintain an ethical culture throughout the Company and to mitigate the company’s legal, regulatory, and reputational risks.
  • Compliance Policies and Procedures: Review and maintenance of policies, and any related procedures, periodically to determine whether updating is necessary to reflect changes in law or regulations.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise with regard to the Key Compliance Risks, which are evaluated as part of the risk assessment process, as well as via other means during the year.
  • Advisory Services: Provide guidance and advice on various compliance risk-related matters to assist Business Functions as they assess opportunities, as well as address challenges, related to governance, performance, and growth to facilitate strategies for execution.
  • Compliance Risk Assessments: Participate in an annual global risk and control self-assessment (“RCSA”) program to facilitate the identification, assessment, monitoring and measurement of operational risks. As part of this overall program, evaluate inherent and residual risk ratings for Key Compliance Risks including the evaluation of key laws and regulations; policies, procedures and processes; training; monitoring and testing results, as well as relevant Audit and Regulatory reports for Key Compliance Risks.
  • Compliance Testing: Develop and maintain a company-wide Monitoring and Testing program designed to verify that business operations comply with certain AIG policies and standards, as well as key laws and regulations. The testing program includes coverage of Key Compliance Risks, as agreed upon with Operational Risk Management and the execution of the approved Monitoring & Test plan designed to enable management determine where it might need to focus resources in order to improve processes, develop remediation plans to address control deficiencies, address emerging risks or implement key initiatives in order to meet business objectives.
  • Compliance Training: developing and implementing an annual country compliance training program addressing key compliance topics, designed to enhance employee knowledge, and understanding of compliance policies and procedures, laws, regulations, and standards of good business conduct.
