Requirements:
• An appropriate recognised Bachelors’ Degree/National Diploma in Cost and
Management Accounting (NQF Level 06) or relevant qualification.
• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Financial Management or related field.
• Sound understanding of financial management, accounting, and business practice.
• Knowledge of strategic planning and budgeting, project management and supply
chain management.
• Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and National Treasury
Regulations (NTR).
• Sufficient knowledge of specific computer software packages (BAS, LOGIS etc.) and
efficient use of associated hardware.
• Sound organising, planning and leadership skills.
• Good communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Sense of responsibility and loyalty.
• Ability to work under pressure and long hours.Duties:
• Ensure that payments are accurate and processed effectively and efficiently in
terms of policies and procedures using applicable systems (BAS, etc).
• Check and verify payment documents to ensure compliance with PFMA, NTR,
effective control measures and adherence to all policies and prescripts.
• Authorise the payments on BAS and Nedbank system.
• Expenditure management in terms of ensuring expenditure is incurred and complies
with relevant laws and legislation i.e. PFMA, Treasury Regulations).
• Ensure effective provision of financial administrative support.
• Ensure that all the suppliers are verified and registered on our financial systems
(National Treasury, LOGIS both Main Frame and Integration and BAS).
• Reconcile the entity’s register on a weekly and monthly basis.
