RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act in absence of Packing Shed Supervisor
  • Daily check of scale at filling point according to the work instruction
  • Inspect and accept/reject returned drums and pallets according to the work instruction
  • Print batch labels
  • Inspect and accept deliveries of new drums as per the work instruction. Report number of reject drums to the Packing Shed Supervisor
  • Prepare returned drums for filling according to the work instruction
  • Fill drums according to the drum filling work instruction
  • Fill IBC’s according to the IBC filling work instruction
  • Load trucks according to the loading procedure
  • Clean and wash box container prior to loading, if deemed necessary.
  • Load box containers with drums and IBC’s according to procedure
  • Assist process personnel with moving of raw materials, as required.
  • Forklift driver
  • Inspect daily the forklifts
  • Stock take of packaging material
  • Maintain the housekeeping of the drum/IBC’s filling and storage area.
  • Compliance with the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and Responsible Care Standards and Procedures
  • Compliance with Evonik Safety requirements
REQUIREMENTS
  • Matric essential, including mathematics, and minimum 5 years working experience in the Chemicals Warehouse operation. Preferred Diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain
  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations
  • Valid Forklift driver license
  • Valid driving’s license, own transport
  • Technical and professional expertise (knowledge of warehouse operations, and Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations)
  • Very good English communication skills (verbal communication, listening and written communication)
  • Positive and proactive team player attitude (motivation, confidence and development orientation) with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills (MS Office)
  • Ability to participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures
  • Must be reliable and accountable with the planning and execution of tasks.
