Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of a Procurement Indirect Specialist to be based at the Rosebank office, Gauteng. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Indirect Procurement.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To be responsible for Indirect and Business Services sourcing activities at McCain South Africa. This includes Marketing Services, HR Services, Financial Services and Facilities Management, across the local South African Head Office and Manufacturing locations. This position will lead the sub-category’s sourcing strategy and execution to ensure sustainable value delivery.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Developing the strategy and leading the execution of buying strategies for the Marketing, HR, Finance and Facilities Management category unlocking sustainable value creation as well as security of supply.
• Leading or partnering in sourcing activities to include vendor selections, negotiations, contract and category management, along with business award (BAR).
• Determining the right level of supplier relation management (category dependent) leveraging the right cadence of communication and level of stakeholder engagement.
• Ensuring compliance and continuous improvement of proper procedures, policies, systems and controls. This will include monitoring supplier performance versus expectations/service level agreements.
• Establish (Partnering) and maintain day-to-day working relationships with internal stakeholders and external business partners.
• Ensuring the right level of communications and change management with business stakeholders to execute key strategies.
• Represent and leverage external forums and associations to ensure market and procurement knowledge.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree/Diploma as a minimum, degree in purchasing will be advantageous.
• A minimum of 3 years of procurement experience (marketing and facilities management buying will be an advantage).
• Preference to member/studying towards the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:

• Industry experience has ideally been gained in the fast moving consumer goods industry desired but not essential.
• Competency in analysing buying trends, attention to detail – ensuring accuracy in every step and problem solving.
• Has a proven track record of successfully influencing change within a business.
• Identify and execute opportunities to realize cost savings for the business.
• Strong decision-making skills with the ability to handle tight deadlines and many competing priorities.
• Strong quality assurance orientation.
• Strong administrative capabilities with proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office (COUPA will be an advantage).
• He/she has good influencing, collaboration and communication skills (written and verbal) and is able to build strong working relationships.
• The ideal candidate will have the presence, intellect, energy, drive, people skills and business acumen to succeed in a fast paced, high performance environment and will be self-motivated.
