JOB STATEMENT

Metso Outotec is embarking on prioritizing its bulk material handling business with the focus on the rail loading & unloading, port loading and unloading, stockyard equipment, conveying equipment and feeding equipment (feeders). In order to achieve this strategic objective, there is a need to appoint a Key Account Manager reporting to the Vice President of Southern Africa Service Sales. Key aspects of the responsibilities are building relationships and expanding business opportunities which require a detailed and profound understanding of parastatal’s operational needs in bulk material handling.

The Key Account Manager is a full-time role which covers a cluster of parastatal’s operations and ports. Overall, the Key Account Manager will be responsible for managing Order intake, Net Sales and the overall Gross profit contributing to the South African Region.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for delivering profitable business growth from allocated sites
Responsibility to create the relationship with the key people at the site and share those with the organization, connecting key interfaces
Focuses on aftermarket business, yet is able to identify the investment/capex opportunities and is responsible to convey the customer requirement to capex sales
Plans and has full visibility to the activities of any Metso Outotec function at the site
Seeks and coordinates for best resources and channels to be used for customer facing activities
Understands ports, parastatal and bulk material handling business and is capable to argue Metso Outotec’s added value
Identifies sales opportunities at Parastatal’s tender platforms
Ensure on time submission of fixed and firm proposals
Drives site sales activities together with cross organizational site account team and understands customer’s capex and opex related decisions and buying timetable
Drives account planning and implementation (strategy, relationship, site level budgeting, activity plan, sales roadmap and plan)
Maintains and shares information of installed base, performance and shutdown schedules and plan
Orchestrates Customer satisfaction surveys and closed loop activities and ensures continuous improvement activities
Supports Accounts Receivable and payment collections
Ensure compliance with local legislation and company policies

RELATIONSHIPS

Reports directly to the Vice President Sales and Service Region, Southern Africa

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Matric (Grade 12)
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Qualification
Over 5 years of Sales and Marketing experience
Experience withing the port and bulk material handling industry
Familiarity with the broad range of port equipment / products and services
Experience with NEC Contract and negotiations
A proven track record of professional accomplishments
High sense of urgency and the ability to develop action plans and meet deadlines
Experience in complex matrix organizations / relationships
Will be required to travel extensively locally, regionally andd internationally
An existing customer network would be beneficial

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong inter-personal skills
Outgoing personality and good presentation skills
Commercially very strong in NEC contracts
Must be capable of effectively and accurately working on several projects at one time, and organizing, prioritizing tasks and working in a fast paced environment. Skills need to include building internal relationships, negotiation skills and understanding of customer needs and market requirements
A high level of computer skills is essential – Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Tool. Proficiency in Salesforce will give an advantage
