Position Summary

We’re now looking for a Functional Learning Lead to join our Human Resource team in Bryanston, Johannesburg.

In this role you will be responsible for the roll out of the Learning Global and Regional above the market solutions within Functions linked to the Market’s MBS and OMP. Responsible for definition of the Functional local Learning & Development needs, supporting the designing, development and where relevant, the delivering these functional capability solutions.

Supports delivery of the Functional Training portfolio with the support of identified Functional local SMEs. You will be required to ensure the consistency and the alignment of the Education & Training practices and tools within the Learning and Development strategic framework and principles.

You will also be responsible for training, coaching and assessing people within the company’s roll-out of Education & Technical practices, knowledge transfer and implementation of the Nestle Continuous Excellence Framework.

A day in the life of a Functional Learning and Training Lead at Nestle

• ‘Understand, assess and report Market’s Learning needs and priorities, based on the local business and people strategies.
• Partner with All Functions Subject Matter Experts: (for the local portfolio) define current and future skill gaps for each job family and provide to design and deliver contents.
• Define the local portfolio for ad hoc learning needs (e.g., competencies linked to specific field sales realities, local compliance, market-based products, unique factory’s technologies.)
• Support or in some cases lead the design with the Functional Subject Matter Expert, the build, and the delivery of the agreed selected “local” functional learning portfolio, leveraging the Center of Competence team or identified local providers.
• Support the delivery of the Learning & Development solutions in the market and coordinating the administration/ provision of local trainers where relevant.
• Deliver identified set of Learning solutions and/or modules, in collaboration with the Geo-cluster pool of trainers and ensure adherence to the implementation plan, Training Calendar and key meeting routines with site Education & Training Specialists.
• Implement Educational & Training training, coaching and assessment strategy and framework as developed by the Total Performance Management Pillar.
• Deliver appropriate training and coaching to transfer Education & Training knowledge to people within Function Pillars in the Market and support the implementation of the Market Education & Training governance.
• Responsible for driving governance around local Learning budget, under the Head of Talent.
• Provide structured feedback to the Regional Center of Competence (CoC) on the quality of the design and build of the functional training portfolios.
• Proactively provide input and continuous feedback to the Head of talent:
  • 1) business needs and development priorities.
  • 2) impact of the Learning & Development Global solutions

What will make you successful?

• 5+ years in Human Resources with experience in Education & Training/ Learning roles
• Ability to execute the People Development business strategy within the above the market L&D portfolio of solutions
• “Digital acumen”: ability to leverage the opportunities generated by the digital learning technologies
• Stakeholder Management: HRBPs, Functional Subject Matter Experts, Site Education & Training Specialists, LMs, Regional CoC team
• Ability to make choices and prioritize resources
• Working under pressure of various and sometime conflicting demands
• Execution and effectiveness capabilities
• Deep knowledge of the L&D strategy and of the Learning and Development methodologies
• Passion for delivery training and coaching sessions
• High level communication, coaching and facilitation skills
• Capacity to “train the trainers” (Content/Subject experts)
• Ability to network with colleagues (trainers) working in different geographical areas
