ROLE DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Manager: Training, the role will oversee, lead and provide non-technical training and
development (Adult Education and Training, Resource Learning Centre, Community Development and School support) to mine
operations by designing, implementing , execute and maintaining various training interventions aligned to the mine specific training
matrix/plan in support of in internal and external regulations and policy compliance with Human Resources processes and relevant
Group Documents, Operation Documents, legislation, agreements, and standards.

*TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 *
Central point of contact for all Adult Education and Training (AET) training interventions.


Provide input for the compilation of the workplace skills plan, annual training report, Human Resource Development SLP
elements and Mining Charter.


Implement annual training plans to meet operational requirements (TNA) using the relevant building blocks of the educational
pipeline in area of responsibility.


Support the process to define training needs including the budgeting process and cost control for the defined area of
responsibility.


Develop, track and maintain an annual training schedule for non-technical training, including centralised programs, (using a
training matrix) and ensure implementation when required.


Manage Community Training as per the operations SLP obligations


Develop mine specific procedures and process flows relating to the provision of training interventions.


Ensure applications for Discretionary grants are submitted timely and in compliance with prescribed MQA and SETA
requirements.


Ensure compliance with ISO 9001/2015 certification standards.


Ensure preparation and facilitation of training audits on the mine i.e.: DMR, MQA and ISO9001 for area of responsibility.


Serve as subject matter expert during preparation of training content and assessment for computer based training and
assessment systems.


Implement pre-employment assessment for recruitment of employees in area of expertise (discipline).


Assess, present and facilitate training interventions in area of responsibility.


Establish and maintain good working relationships and an effective / sound communication system with the Human Resource
Development Function.


Attend internal and external stakeholder meetings, provide feedback and implement actions when required.


Reporting, Monitoring and Evaluation Audit: Ensure that all Human Resource Development reporting is aligned with standards,
guidelines and schedules.


Compile and maintain monthly reports on non-technical training interventions including training budget reports.


Responsible to maintain an adequate administrative and recordkeeping on the system of all training related governance.


Execute supervisory functions wrt HSEQ responsibilities (2.9.2 responsibilities).


Participate in recruitment and selection of trainees in area of responsibility (including psychometric assessment).


Takes cognisance of and adhere to Company policies, procedures and relevant legislation. Manage and report on non
compliance issues.


Model behaviour that is consistent with the Company Safety, Health and Environment Vision and Values. Manage and report
on non compliance issues.


Supervises subordinates in the designated area.


Effective Team Player and Effective Self Management.

*MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12


Skills Development Facilitator certificate.


Higher Certificate in Occupational ETD Practice (NQF Level 5).


Conduct Outcomes Based Assessment.



A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technical or training environment.


Computer Literacy and Microsoft Office Suite.


Valid driver’s license.

ADVANTAGE:
Supervisory Development Programme (SDP) or equivalent (advantageous).
