Job Description
RCL FOODS is passionate about talent and we are currently seeking a Commercial Manager to join our Vector Logistics team.

The role will provide direct commercial support and insight to the business leaders, facilitate the development of commercial engagement with the rest of the business and develop models (both total business and customer/principal models) together with strategic-focused discussions that allow for enhanced business profitability .

This role will be based at the National Office in Westville and report to the Commercial Executive.

Minimum Requirements
CA or CIMA (completed) is essential

8 years’ experience, including commercial costing and people management

SAP experience would be advantageous as would exposure to a supply chain/FMCG/ logistics environment

Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Contribution

Participate in the formulation and implementation of the national strategy, based on a 2 to 5 year view of requirements.

Ensure that assigned and agreed strategic targets are operationalised and achieved.

Business Partnering

Partner with various teams across the business to develop a commercial model that accurately reflects the business operations, as well as understanding the limitations and opportunities and provide recommendations on these insights.

Conduct regular business reviews to the directors and execs highlighting insights and impacts of key cost drivers on profitability.

Commercially support new business proposals by understanding the new client request and coordinating a costed response with clear terms based on current and future capabilities.

Provide practical commercial expertise and insights to both internal/external customers and principals as part of regular engagement and ad hoc requests.

Commercial Insight and Technical Expertise : Activity-Based Costing

Lead both the integrity and increased functionality initiatives of the activity-based costing model .

Provide and share technical expertise (business commercial model, the ABC costing model, business strategy) across the business at the appropriate levels of detail.

Design enhanced customer/principal and business profitability and performance information designed to identify margin opportunities and facilitate discussions for improved contributions.

Staff Management

Lead, coach and develop your direct reportees and the broader team towards meeting the strategy and targets through regular communication and utilisation of the full organisational talent management tool set.

Manage staff activities, ensuring service levels are met and protocols are adhered to.

Develop and manage high performance multidisciplinary teams in order to solve problems within the commercial arena.

Conduct regular meetings and ensure that records are kept and shared across the team and that action plans agreed to within team meetings are delivered upon.
