Job Description

This is a great opportunity to join us as an Senior Human Resources Officer in our Motorparts Distribution Center from Meadowview, Johannesburg South Africa. The main purpose of the job is to provide generalist HR services.

Key responsibilities:                                  

1. HR Administration                                   

Ensure all HR employee filing are done on time – accurately and timely on a weekly basis                    

Ongoing advice & support on company HR policies, benefits and procedures to employees and all managers   

Process, verify and maintain documentation relating to employee activities such as training, grievances, disciplinary hearings and performance reviews            

Ensure that all employee records are processed electronically and filed accurately and timely        

Compile monthly HR KPI and Exco report               

Responsible for SAP headcount reporting  

2. Industrial Relations                      

Responsible for handling of disciplinary and grievance procedures in line with the company policy and relevant legislation

Compile all relevant documentation to support any labour related litigation

Represent the company at conciliations and arbitration at the Motor Industry Bargaining Council

Partner with, coach and counsel managers and employees on how to manage and resolve country employee relations issues.  

3.Recruitment and Onboarding                

Manage the talent acquisition process in liaison with EMEA Talent Acquisition

Advertise staff vacancies, assess applications, interview candidates, give selection tests and Predictive Index assessments, prepare reports and make recommendations to management about staff appointments.

Develop job specific outcomes based interview questionnaires for all vacant positions in liaison with HODs.

Induct new employees on policies and procedures on the first day of employment.

Introduce new employees to all employees on first day. Organize pre-medicals.                              

4. Employment Equity                             

Responsible for EE management and compliance 

Prepare quarterly EE presentations and chair EE meetings             

Responsible for monthly EE statistics and reporting.  

5.Training    

Submit annual training report  and workplace skills plan to relevant authorities

6. BBBEE       

Ensure BBBEE compliance certificate is obtained annually.

Monitor and report on progress against transformation and sustainability plans and prepare the organization for external verification process.

7. Performance Management                            

Provide support to management around performance feedback, coaching and career development.        

Required Skills

BCom HR Management/B Degree Industrial Psychology
Ideal: BCom Honours HR Management/Industrial Psychology
Excellent working knowledge of SAP and Sage EE and Skills modules
Ownership – proactive, organized & delivers quality outcomes
Consultative – engage others, takes on feedback, obtain input, provide feedback
Communication – clear, concise and articulate, good listener, creates clarity & simplicity
Core HR skills – excellent working knowledge of all HR disciplines 
Excellent MS Office skills – Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Sound Knowledge on various labour legislation and IR processes in SA
Meticulous attention to detail
Time management

Required Experience

• minimum 5 years of work experience in a unionized environment – manufacturing, construction, FMCG or distribution
