Key Purpose of the role
The primary function of this role is to manage annuity claims payments with internal and external stakeholders. A key purpose is to add value to current processes by identifying gaps, developing processes, and proposing innovative recommendations that will impact efficiencies and the quality of work produced. You will therefore need advanced technical skills, particularly in excel, excellent communication skills, sound financial knowledge and be comfortable working to extremely tight deadlines. The goal of the role is to ensure quality assurance within Disability claims payment and provide key support to all stakeholders through a quality assurance lens.
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to
  • Relationship management service providers, brokers, and employers
  • Mentorship, coaching and training of claims payment processes to relevant stakeholders
  • Tracking and monitoring of SLA (Service Level Agreement) through all claim’s payment functions
  • Ensure quality assessments and audits are done
  • Attend client and broker engagements
  • Effective participation is system enhancements
  • Drive efficiency to enhance processes
  • Ensuring data integrity of all payment related benefits, schedules, and reporting
  • Management of complaints and escalations and related processes
  • Claim payment data analysis and presentation when required
  • Monthly reporting on trends noticed through QA – Where gaps are identified sessions should be setup with management to design gap closure strategies
  • Design a QA matrix/checklist/opportunities to assess quality of decisions not procedural assessment
  • Balancing of payroll
  • Implementing in claims increases

  • Financial qualification or experience in financial role of more than 5 years
  • Experience in Insurance payments
  • COP (Certificate of Proficiency) – Advantageous
  • Industry knowledge on Disability benefits and pension fund rules
  • Relevant Industry Qualifications – Advantageous
  • Group Risk Product and Industry knowledge – Advantageous
  • Minimum 3 years in Disability payment role
  • Advanced MS Office skills.
  • Experience in PAYE tax calculation skill
