The candidate should have 4 – 5 years of Public Relations experience, strong media relations with a track record of securing coverage, and should be fully abreast with the news cycle and media landscape.Professional skills:
Understands the media landscape and is able to identify and develop pitch angles based on current news topics and the requirements of specific media titles/journalists.
Has established relationships with print and broadcast journalists and is able to secure tier 1 media coverage across clients.
Independently develops client briefing documents for media interviews with accuracy and attention to detail.
Able to work on multiple clients and projects simultaneously with good time management.
Has full understanding of public relations and a demonstrated ability to achieve public relations objectives.
Develops communication content plans based on the media landscape in conjunction with client objectives.
Understands business trends for industry segments/products.
Has the ability to translate a client content calendar into a writer’s brief, including industry context and understanding.
Efficiently and effectively plans and manages media events (e.g., press conferences, media tours, etc.).
Understands the creative process and how to work effectively with internal and external creative resources.
Able to liaise with media tracking agencies to ensure client coverage is timeously and correctly captured.

Ensure media lists are prepared and updated for the distribution of client press releases. Proactively add new media contacts to the lists based on agenda surfing.
Develop media pitches for the distribution of press releases. The pitches must be insightful, informed and creative to catch the attention of journalists and producers.
Lead the team’s media meet & greet agenda. Contact the journalists to schedule the meetings within the team’s availability.
Proactively support the AM and AD to reach coverage targets on all clients. Suggest timeous solutions to obtain coverage if targets are lacking.
