ROLE SUMMARY

The role exists to oversee as well as contribute to the software development, data integration and business intelligence reporting pipeline in order to deliver solutions in line with business needs.

The key deliverables and responsibilities associated to this role include:

• Work closely with suppliers to ensure software development expectations are met and delivered on time. Ensure documentation is completed and signed off before any work commences. This includes but is not limited to Functional Design Specifications
• Support and maintain the data warehouse solution as well as the analytics, reporting and dashboarding solution (Grafana). Design, develop and maintain data warehouse and analytics architecture to meet the business’s analysis and reporting needs.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

SOFTWARE DEVELOPEMENT

Mobile Application

Maintain the Mobile Application development environment, including the Apple and Google app store accounts.

Attend meetings with the mobile application project and development teams on an ad hoc basis to assist with delivering updates to the mobile application development environment.

Provide input to the development and implementation of the mobile application features.

Web App Development

Website and software application designing, building, or maintaining. Determine business needs by analysing technical requirements and documenting these in a Functional Design Specification.

Adhere to change control policy to ensure all system changes are documented, tested and approved according to policy before deploying to production.

Supplier Management

Facilitate internal requests with external suppliers to ensure the correct requirements are communicated and documented in a Functional Design Specification which is approved by both parties.

Track the delivery of approved Functional Design Specifications and progress according to agreed delivery dates.

DATA INTEGRATION

Internal (Data Warehouse)

Apply data quality checks throughout the data integration life cycle.

Extract, transform and integrate data from and to internal data sources.

Technical development of any new data integration solution which is to be incorporated in the overall data architecture.

Carry out monitoring, tuning, and database performance analysis.

External: Extract, transform and integrate data from and to external data sources.

BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

Report Development

Ensure all report and dashboard requests are contained with Report Definition Documents and approved by business owners and senior management.

Maintain the Report Definition Document repository and document any changes to existing reports within the respective definition documents.

Change Management

Ensure all report and dashboard requests are contained with Report Definition Documents and approved by business owners and senior management.

REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor’ degree in computer science, information systems, or software engineering is a perquisite

Min of 2-5 years power BI and report writing experience

Experience in the medical industry would be advantageous

Must be able to travel

Job Type: Full-time

• Richmond, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Willingness to travel:
